Ohh yeah, finally scuba diving Belongas Bay and diving “the Magnet” is happening again, and up and running for another awesome dive season. While we had off-season our dive guides have been out training and searching for more Belongas Bay dive sites. It’s been great fun and we came across quite a lot of new stuff for us to dive Belongas Bay and to show our divers this year.
Diving Belongas over the last few weeks we’ve spotted a astounding number of white tip reef sharks while diving the Belongas dive sites on pretty much every dive, and of course also while diving “The Magnet”. But not only while divining “The Magnet”, also at the Belongas dive sites Gili Sarang, Boulder City, and Soft Coral Garden we’ve had frequent visits from these remarkable beings. What I find so amazing about diving Belongas Bay and with white tip reef sharks is that you continuously have the impression to experience a bit of the whole lot. You find them swimming in smaller groups, hanging out under overhangs and boulders or maybe following you in a curious manner. For photographers its bliss to get up close, but for the non- camera wielding divers merely getting a chance to really see how white tip reef sharks act underwater is absolutely amazing. White tip reef sharks are quite common while diving Belongas Bay and the possibility to meet up with them is very high.
Apart from the sharks we spotted a mix of pelagic while diving Belongas Bay, like eagle rays, sea snakes, schooling trevally, barracuda and tuna. Also the macro diving at Belongas was quite cool, we found a multitude of nudibranch, pygmy seahorse, frogfish and quite a lot more non-macro such as of red tooth trigger fish, eels, lobsters, grouper and a big number of lively reef fish.so. Diving Belongas Bay truly offers it all and especially during the prime of the season the huge diversity can blow your mind.
